Students make a mindful start to their artwork. Happy Art Workshops.

What are your art workshops like, Meg?

I’ll do a demonstration in real time, then be there while you – also in real time – create your very own picture.

Materials and process are akin to children’s art lessons, and will give you visual techniques to play with.

Numbers are capped. The first sessions will have a maximum of just 8 participants, while we experiment with our new garden studio venue.

Current feedback is that folks want to do Drawing and Painting and Women’s Art History courses. Those are readily combined, and this feedback will guide what I offer. I will also be experimenting with some short comics exercises.

Materials to complete a painting of your own are included in the Art Workshop price.

Previous students have commented:

“What a relaxing afternoon!  Escaping into the ‘art zone’, with Tangerine Meg’s expert demonstration and guidance we all created our own unique art.  Great ’therapy’, really enjoyed it and learnt some new skills too!”

No homework!

Just put aside put aside a precious couple hours for yourself, for your session… plus buffer time to get to the venue at the workshop time.

BYO water bottle, snacks if need be, and wear clothes which can happily get a smattering of craypas & paint on them, or wear a protective apron layer.

Creavitivy.
We don’t have to do it alone.
We were never meant to.

Me as a Teacher of Design and Art Workshops

Why me?

Your mess is your mission ~ Pace Smith

Don’t think I have this “make time for your art practise” bit down pat… it’s one of my life lessons, and one teaches best what one most needs to learn, right?

And a bit of bio stuff…

I went to Ruth Tuck’s quintessential South Australian Art School from the age of 7 – I have a lot of experience making pictures! – and I resonate with colour… I started helping Ruth with (ie. emptying/refilling water pots for) younger students when I was 16, and in time began to teach. After High School I did a Bachelor of Design (Visual Communication) which was before computers were invented in common use. Later, after a change of pace and 2 boys – teaching for Ruth through almost all of it – I went back to college and began another course in Graphic Design. In that Advanced Diploma I learned to apply computer magic to my design skills.

What art workshops are coming up?
